Matteo Renzi è nato nel 1975; io sono nato nel 1974. Ho un anno in più e apparteniamo alla stessa generazione. Metteo Renzi è Sindaco di Firenze; io sono Sindaco di Bortigiadas. Beyond anecdotes too, but that makes the character very sympathetic, I found myself in the adventure of the Mayor of Matthew (I call him Matt, just to name, as the singers of the '60s?). Perhaps only those who have made the mayor to speak with enthusiasm of their country and their city, perhaps only those who have made the Mayor investing all his time to see done concrete utopias that improve the lives of citizens can be written with the lightness and irony of the hassles of life "as Mayor", perhaps only those who have made the Mayor as a young man can understand the wave of innovation that moves within social organizations gerontocratic. This part of the book not only signed and I signed, but I wanted to write it myself. I was thrilled when he described the benefits of the processes involved in decisions or when the Administration has outlined the guidelines on urban planning that included a stop to the use of land, but the recovery and urban green spaces. I was also excited when he described the adventure of Primary won I remember my first election victory photo finish when nobody would have bet a dollar wash over me. A bit like him. But not all have the Mayor and therefore do not know if the emotion is repeatable and multiply on a large scale. The anecdotal is certainly a good way to get to love, but I do not know if it helps the argument, analysis and proposal. Place in the middle of the book "Me" I do not think that helps to depersonalize a policy plastered on personality and customizations, but rather to help create new and more acrimonious factions. After the 40 page book has started to like it less. It would be easy to make fun (or how does autoironizzare Matthew) on the scout quoting George Bernard Shaw on "children dressed as idiots, accompanied by children dressed like idiots" on the citation or trivialize the school Calamandrei (the part on the school and culture, well beyond page 40 I am very pleased though to speak of culture in Florence is like talking about 'Ndrangheta in Gioia Tauro! Of course it is more difficult to speak of culture in San Luca in Locri, to say ...). Renzi continues to share with the criticism of not / communication (or rather lack of communication) between the leaders of the center and the country and the struggle for a profound renewal of policies, practices and rituals of politics within the Democratic Party.
But the least acceptable - parzialissimo from my point of view - is when Renzi (no more than Matthew) tries to be leader or statesman, or when he speaks of four (why four) "Taboo" the PD and of the center:
1) FIRST TABU ': "The union is always right." Takes this is a free interpretation of a few to venture into the controversy and the Plan Marchionne Fiat Fiom to Mirafiori. Giving - and you thought - right across the board in the second Marchionne assumed that all those who invest and close is always right. 2) SECONDO TABU': "L'imprenditore è comunque un evasore. Un evasore in potenza se non in fatto". Non tutti gli imprenditori sono evasori, ci mancherebbe altro. Ma come mai Renzi non si chiede come mai in Italia i livelli dell'evasione e del lavoro nero sono a livelli stratosferici?
3) TERZO TABU': "Pubblica Amministrazione: valutare il dipendente pubblico è impossibile e la produttivitù non è misurabile". Ragionamento prettamente alla Brunetta: il dipendente pubblico è un fannullone. Civil servants should be evaluated (and there are all the legal means to do so) and you have to "empower" those who must judge that the OIV (the internal organs of evaluation) in an objective and independent from the political moment.
4) FOURTH TABU ': "Taxes are beautiful." Renzi, a very screwed Berlusconi, Padoa Schioppa imputes to the entire distance between the center and the public. A tactically unfortunate phrase, but terribly true because with the taxes being built schools, roads, they pay my wages and pensions and Renzi. Paying taxes may not be beautiful, but it certainly is right. And it is right to pay them according to justice: those who have more pay di più, chi ha meno paga meno. Prima alle piccole e medie imprese e poi ai gruppi multinazionali. Cosa che è costantemente (tramite condoni) durante l'epopea berlusconiana. Ma Renzi si dimentica di dirlo. Cita solo le 27 euro di tasse procapite che ha abbassato ai cittadini della provincia di Firenze quando era Presidente lui.
Avviandomi verso la fine tralascio il fatto che secondo Renzi - praticamente - Berlusconi e il berlusconesimo non esistano. Renzi, 40 pages later, you forget that the recipe is to beat Berlusconi in the manner with which you administer a city environment, participation, sites, communication, social, services, "concrete utopias", decisions, technological innovation, green economy. If Renzi back to the first 40 pages of the book will play a role in PD and for Italy otherwise dead (politically) Berlusconi will die too. Without leaving neither tracce nè rimpianti e restando nell'immaginario collettivo del Centrosinistra come un gran furbacchione.
